Something on my mind.

"As we look not to things that are seen but to things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

Over the past few days I have really been diving deep into God's word,as He has been speaking to my heart. I have been reading 2nd Corinthians, and it has been blowing my mind! It talks about living for His glory, and shining for Him. We are all of God, and God is of us; we must allow His light to shine so that others may see his glory. As Christians we will go through many hard times and persecutions, but He has His hand on us, and will not allow harm to come our way. In 2nd Corinthians 5:7 it says "We walk by faith and not by sight." I often give up hope when I am struggling with something, and my faith in God slowly decreases. But His wonder and grace is not something we have to always physically touch and see. I need not store my treasures here on earth but in heaven. What lies in heaven has no comparison to what we are facing here in the world. I am so thankful for such a loving God,that wraps his arms around me each day and loves every part of me. I can't wait to see how He will work in my life.

Friends.

I got to spend time with my lovely friends Antonio and Leana at Atlantic Station. It was so much fun walking around to the different stores. We browsed in one of my favorite stores Ikea and we ate at an Asian restaurant called the Tin Drum and it was quite delicious! We also got late night coffee at a cafe called Cafe Nineteen. It's a bit expensive, but the atmosphere is very nice; including a suave bar and thick leather chairs to sit in! Overall it was a lovely night, and spending time with friends always makes me happy! Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Movie mania.

I had such a lovely evening catching up with my friend Leana yesterday. It's always nice to reunite with old friends after a long time. We met for coffee and then went for manicures. After, we sent to the movies to see Inception. I have to say all the hype for the movie was 100% correct. It was one of the best movies I have seen in quite a while. Not to mention the movie had my celebrity crush Joseph Gordon Levitt being completely rough and tough. The acting was amazing, and overall the movie was extremely convincing. Also starring in the movie is Leonardo Decaprio, Ellen Page, and the lovely Marion Coutillard. A movies about dreams vs. reality, I suggest this blockbuster to everyone.
I also spent today watching the movie called Seven Year Itch starring Marilyn Monroe. This just so happens to be my first Marilyn Monroe movie, and I have to say that she is simply enchanting! I just might have become a fan.

Bored.

Today was immensely boring! However I did spend some time watching classic movies such as A Room with a View, and I'm currently watching I Love You, Alice B. Toklas! I will review both movies shortly. I'm reading such a wonderful book right now called the History of Love by Nicole Krauss. It is such an amazing book about the depth and discovery of love, I can't wait to finish it and tell you all about it!

Nicole Krauss is actually married to one of my favorite modern day authors,Jonathan Safron Foer. Great authors must think and marry alike!

New Haircut.

Yay! I finally got a desperately needed a haircut today. It's short little mod bob as I like to call it. Mommy and brother loved the new do on my head. I'm quickly liking it more, and hopefully I'll find different styles to try with it. I've been growing and changing a lot this summer, and I thought a new haircut would be appropiate to compliment the change. Things are looking up so far. I have a summer job, a job when I return to college, and a little family that loves me very much. I'm learning to make the most of what you have, and appreciate the things surrounding you.

In addition to my new look, I have been officially diagnosed with Michael Buble fever! I can't seem to get enough of him. I am determined to go to at least one of his concerts. Although I know he is not perfect, his songs sure do paint the picture of wonderful man. I hope to meet and marry someone as great as that!

Oh Ella.

Ah I know I haven't written in a while; I don't know why really. I will update you on my ventures soon, but here's a little bedtime anecdote I find rather soothing. Ella Fitzgerald is my all time favorite singer, and this song is just so lovely. I hope you enjoy :).

Good night.

Looming Love.

Have you ever wondered why people are so afraid of committing to a relationship? I always have. It is the fear of losing freedom over the constant companionship? People nowadays seem perplexed as to the very thought of the word: commitment. And when you do see a happy couple? Are they really happy or it just the facade of being absolutely in love? Are they too playing along, giving the false impression that a relationship just so happens to be their biggest friend?
When most people enter an exclusive relationship, they feel obligated to leave some of their old past behind. They then in turn lose a part of who they are, just to please the other person or to fit into their mold of life. But is this truly a necessity? Is losing the golden part of your heart worth it in order to gain favor? Perhaps this is why we are afraid of entering the doomed hand holding, long phone calls, neck caressing, etc. Our freedom bestowed upon us just so happens to be the very last thing near and dear we should cherish next to God.
Freedom taste so good, we don't want to let go. Freedom are midnights, dirt roads, watermelon bellies, summer nights, and vinyl records. We can be whomever we choose to be. But in the end, with whom can we can share this freedom with? You see, I firmly believe we were not made to live solely by ourselves. We need someone to run, jump, laugh, and cry with. Empty hands were meant to be filled with hands of love. Without love, we are nothing. But with love, we are everything. To fear something so beautiful should be a sin. We were made for love. Instead of trembling of being in a relationship and losing who you are, find the one with whom you can run and be free with.
